Mayra Delaney - PwC
Mayra Delaney was a Summer 2018 "Start Intern", and engaged in work assignments within HR Talent and Deployment. PwC's Start internship is a diversity and inclusion program geared towards giving a head-Start to traditionally under-represented racial and ethnic minority groups within the accounting, auditing, or professional consulting industries. After her successful completion of the "Start Internship", she was given the opportunity to return to complete a client service internship in the Audit line of service next summer, 2019.
Pablo Alvarez - Deloitte
During the Summer of 2018, Pablo Alvarez had the opportunity to intern at Deloitte Consulting LLC in their Mexico City office. He was put on Deloitte's "Strategy and Operations" team. As an intern, his tasks included researching the regulatory framework of Mexico that could affect the client's entrant into the market, analyzed the client's competition, and calculated market size.
Aaron Eckstein - Telesign
Aaron interned for a tech company that provides data solutions and two-factor authentication to 21 of the top 25 global companies. He worked in Business Operations and Strategy, and some of his work included collaborating with graduate student interns to pitch a new single sign-on (SSO) product to the entire company and board of directors, analyzed the operational efficiency of self-service and enterprise platforms, and assessed key performance indicators (KPIs) of client services metrics. He also played on the company's basketball team that competes against other tech companies in the area and helped win the first championship in TeleSign's history.
Jorge Ulloa- Bank of America Merrill Lynch
During the Summer of 2019, Jorge will be interning with Bank of America Merrill Lynch within their investment banking division in the Los Angeles office. Investment banks are financial intermediaries that assist clients in underwriting securities, restructuring companies, and facilitating mergers and acquisitions — just to name a few roles they fulfill. Jorge went through two phone screen interviews as well as a “Superday,” which consisted of seven 30-minute interviews with analysts, associates, vice presidents, and managing directors. His main responsibilities will be to develop and maintain complex financial models, prepare presentations for clients, and perform financial analyses, such as valuations and merger consequences.
Izzy Singer -
NBCUniversal at NBC4 News
After being in the LBSA for only a semester, Izzy secured an internship at NBCUniversal for NBC4 News! The VP of Professional Development posted a link to an application on their member-only facebook page and the email contact of the recruiter, and within 3 weeks, Izzy landed this amazing opportunity. She says that she is "so thankful for the LBSA for giving her this opportunity, and is looking forward to a great semester as our new VP of marketing."
Jonathan Carrera - Bloomberg Diversity Summit
Jonathan traveled to New York to attend Bloomberg's 2018 Diversity Summit. He heard about this opportunity from an LBSA professional event with Bloomberg. This is an all-expenses paid program designed to teach university students about the culture of Bloomberg and its efforts to promote diversity and inclusion. Students from universities all over the country attend. This conference offered an exclusive look at internships and sophomore leadership programs over the Summer, giving insights on the application, interview, and selection process. This conference is hosted every year and is based on a short application and digital interview.
Daniel Rodriguez and Diego Garza -
Daniel Rodriguez and Diego Garza concluded a selective 3-day exploratory program in Dallas with Goldman Sachs. They interacted with 79 other students selected from over 3,000 applicants at the Undergraduate Camp. The event was composed of workshops, case studies, teamwork, networking, and of course, a lot of fun.

Carolina was selected among the top 3% of thousands of university student applicants across the world for a multi-day program exposing attendees to the financial services industry and exploring numerous career paths. The program featured challenging and interactive case studies, group projects, technical and soft skills training, and networking with Goldman Sachs professionals. One of her favorite parts was to meet other students and she is very excited to participate in similar programs with both JPMorgan and Credit Suisse in April.
Daniel Valencia - Union Bank (MUFG)
This summer, he will be working full time as a Jr. Project Manager Analyst for MUFG. He will be part of a two-year rotational program, and upon completion/certification, he will be working as an IT Project Manager.
